Online Mitsubishi Auto Parts Store Releases Diamante Historical Review

Industry leading online Mitsubishi auto parts and accessories store releases announcement to highlight progression of the Mitsubishi Diamante

Denver, Colorado, June 30, 2010 - Discount Honda Acura Mitsubishi Parts today released an announcement highlighting the background and product evolution of the Mitsubishi Diamante. Mitsubishi automobile owners in need of replacement parts or accessories can go online to browse and conveniently purchase parts at www.discounthondaacuramitsubishiparts.com or at www.discount-mitsubishi-auto-parts.com.

The Mitsubishi Diamante was manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors between 1990 and 2005. The car was built in Australia and was Mitsubishi’s front-wheel-drive luxury sedan entrant. In the early part of the 1990s the Diamante was mainly a rental-fleet car until 1996. The 1997 model grew in size, nearly 4 inches longer than its predecessor. During this period only a sedan was being produced as the station wagon was phased out.

Among the car’s competitors during its heyday were the Infiniti I30, Lexus ES 300, Acura TL, Mazda Millenia, and Nissan Maxima ES. The 1997 Diamante was available in two trims. The base trim level was known as ES and the more upscale trim the LS. Weight continued to drop in the Diamante with the incorporation of more aluminum in its design elements. Numerous features and options were available including front airbags, antilock brakes, power accessories, CD player, and leather interior.

In a Consumer Guide road-test evaluation the Mitsubishi Diamante was described as “packing one of the biggest and torquiest engines in the near-luxury field.” Acceleration was rated lively with a test model going from zero to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds. Fuel economy averaged about 20 mpg when tested with a fair amount of highway driving. Leg and head room were strong points for the Diamante. Buyers searching in the used car market for the Diamante may want to check for the traction control option that improves traction on wet pavement. While marketed as a sports sedan the Diamante still achieves considerable comfort according to reviewers. Its softer suspension absorbs bumps easily, although sometimes at the expense of handling.

The Diamante is considered a good value, even in its competitive class. Other models such as the Lexus ES 300 may offer more prestige, but the consumer model version LS Diamante may be a consideration even for current day used car buyers.
